The Finer Points

A permission code is a four to six digit random number issued by the instructor or department to enroll in a specific class. Permission codes can only be used once, and are required when a class is full, after the open add period has ended (see Academic Calendar here), if there is a time conflict, registering for a class outside your career of study, or when the department has restricted enrollment. The Advising Team does not and cannot give out permission codes. Please see the following for the permission code process:

Permission code requests should go to the Instructor of the course. If a course is full, please join the course Waitlist and ask for a permission code from the Instructor during week 2. Once you have obtained your permission code, log in to the Campus Information Services, click on the "Registration" tile on your Student Homepage,  click on the "Add Class" link, choose the term, and then enter the "class number" or find the class by using the "class search". Select the class and enter the permission number/code in the permission number field.
