Dat Nguyen

Graduate SAC Chair in Dance

My name is Dat Nguyen. I am from Vietnam, and I am a third-year graduate student in the School of Dance. Even though most of my researches focus on dance and the moving bodies, I am actually an inter-disciplinary artist. I am interested in the intersection across different mediums and how these conversations between different art forms can offer new insights to my being and the world around me. This is why I was drawn to the College of Fine Arts. Not only that they offer high-quality education and a wide range of programs, they also encourage collaboration between disciplines. I have taken drawing class, animation class, and film classes besides my core classes in the dance program, and I think these experiences enriched me as an artist as I continue to hone-in and define my artistic values. After graduation, I hope that I will be able to continue making works and engaging in more disciplines (I would love to learn how to play an instrument).

You can see my works and reach out to me for collaboration at my website: http://www.motionvivid.com or my Instagram photography account @motionvivid. For CFA related matter, you can direct me an email at .
